Special conditions prevail on the Tibetan plateaus four thousand meter above sea level; the air pressure is much lower and there is a lower level of oxygen than what we are used to. It is these special, unusual conditions that are most favorable to the formation and development of the Tibetan fungi. Even the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has accepted that this fungus help to improve endurance and performance in the cases of hard physical stress, such as physical work or sports. The active ingredients within the Cordyceps (cordycepin, adenosine, SOD enzymes and polysaccharides) may contribute to the proper functioning and strengthening of the immune system. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) uses it to tone the lungs and kidney. Consumption of this fungi is primarily recommended for those with a weakened immune system, especially during times of damp weather conditions. |
