The combination of mistletoe, hawthorn, and garlic together have a positive effect on blood circulation, stimulates heart functioning, lowers blood cholesterol levels, helps to decrease blood pressure, and delays arteriosclerosis. Certain proteins of the mistletoe have an effect the vascular system, lower and/or regulate blood pressure while others enhance the activity of the immune system. It is also used to help treat cancer.

Hawthorn contains naturally occuring antioxidants which help to protect against harmful free radicals which damage cells and tissues and are also responsible for the aging process due to oxidation. It also effectively assists digestion. Hawthorn helps to reduce blood pressure by dilating the blood vessels, and helps to dissipate cholesterol deposited within the blood vessel walls. It may also be recommended to help treat vasocontriction, circulatory problems, and in the case of excessive intake of fat and meat.

Garlic, as one of Hungarian folk medicine’s most popular medicine, contains potassium, phosphorus, vitamins B and C, and protein. It has a vasodilatory, antihypertensive, sedative, and antiseptic effect; it is also good against worms. Garlic’s vasodilatory effect predominates especially in the peripheral (farther from the heart) blood vessels. It is particulary effective against arteriosclerosis. Furthermore, garlic helps against bloating and reduces blood cholesterol levels. It improves blood supply to the heart muscle, slows dowm a rapid heart rate, and helps to relieve coronary spasms.
